WorkCover Queensland has five divisions—their functions are outlined below:

Customer Services
The Customer Services division is our largest division and is responsible for our employer and injured worker customers—the division is the face of WorkCover Queensland. We work with the injured worker, the employer, and medical and allied health providers to help rehabilitate the worker, so they can return to work quickly and safely.
We work in locations all across the state, so employers and injured workers have the flexiblity to talk to us face-to-face.
Operations
The Operations division has three business areas—Claims Determination, Business Support, and Customer Support.
The Claims Determination team assess work related injury or illness claims and determine liability. Business Support processes medical payments and claims registrations and incorporates the mailroom, scanning, and records. The Customer Support group encompasses Premium Services, New Business, and the Contact Centre.
Common Law
The Common Law division is responsible for assessing and managing common law claims.
A worker can only claim for common law damages successfully if their injury was caused by their employer's breach of duty, breach of contract, or negligence.
Business Solutions
The Business Solutions division provides WorkCover Queensland with the business and systems support services required to run the business. Business Solutions provide end-to-end services from analysis of business needs and the design and development of solutions, through to process change implementation and technical training of WorkCover Queensland people.
Corporate Services
The Corporate Services division has four business areas, which provide support to our core business.
Business Consulting is responsible for reporting, data and trend analysis, and determining premium pricing.
Human Resources provides support to all WorkCover Queensland divisions in the areas of recruitment and selection, performance management, training and development, workplace health and safety, and employee relations. Human Resources supports the initiatives that build WorkCover Queensland’s cultural direction and focus.
Financial Services incorporates our accounts payable/receivable and payroll services, management and financial accounting and our systems accounting and systems testing.
Risk and Compliance is responsible for the audit, quality assurance and compliance of the organisation. This area also includes our communications team who is responsible for providing strategic and policy advice and overseeeing our media and communication activities.
