WorkCover Queensland is committed to protecting user privacy. We understand and appreciate that visitors and users of this website are concerned about their privacy and the confidentiality and security of any information that may be provided to us.

The Queensland Government has established a privacy regime for the Queensland public sector based on 11 Information Privacy Principles. These are contained in an Information Standard that agencies are required to adhere to. The relevant Information Standard is Information Standard 42 (IS42). A copy of this standard and its associated guidelines may also be accessed at www.iie.qld.gov.au.

Cookies
Our website is cookie-free. A cookie is an electronic token that is passed to your browser and your browser passes it back to the server whenever a page is sent to you.

Information logged
WorkCover Queensland collects information about your use of our website, but does not record any personal information. Information collection technologies such as CTI and single pixel GIFs are not used on this website.

WorkCover Queensland records:

• the type and version number of the browser used
• your top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc)
• your server's IP address (a number which is unique to the machine through which you are connected to the Internet: usually one of your service provider's machines)
• pages accessed and any documents downloaded
• the address of the referring site (for example, the previous site visited)
• the date and time of your visit.

Information obtained from your general access is retained for purposes of network analysis, usage analysis and research into usage patterns for the purpose of improving our online services. Individual machines or users' browsing activities are not uniquely identified.

No information collected will be released externally. No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities, except in the unlikely event of an investigation where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant.

E-mail correspondence and feedback information
This is a Queensland Government website. E-mail correspondence sent to this site will be treated as a public record and will be retained in accordance with statutory requirements.

Your name and address details will not be added to a mailing list. We will forward an e-mail to Q-COMP (the workers' compensation regulatory authority of Queensland) if the query relates to Q-COMP but we will not otherwise disclose your name and address to third parties without your consent unless required by law.

E-mail messages may be monitored and/or quarantined by our Business Solutions staff for system trouble shooting and maintenance purposes and to ensure that inappropriate material is not circulated. Quarantined e-mail messages are generally retained for approximately one month until they are deleted from our system.

Access to Personal Information
Under IS42 you have the same right of access as is currently available under the Freedom of Information Act 1992. Applications for access to personal information should be made in writing to the claims officer.
