There are a number of organisations involved in Queensland workers’ compensation, other than WorkCover. Below are some useful links to related organisations.
Comcare is a statutory authority responsible for workers’ compensation, rehabilitation, and occupational health and safety issues for federal government departments and their employees. Comcare does not operate under Queensland’s workers’ compensation scheme; it reports to the Commonwealth Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations.
Q-COMP is the workers’ compensation regulatory authority. Their primary function is to regulate the workers’ compensation scheme under the Workers’
Queensland Department of Industrial Relations
WorkCover is a Queensland Government owned statutory authority and our board reports to the Minister for Employment, Training and Industrial Relations.
WorkCover in Queensland is slightly different to models in some other Australian states. Importantly in Queensland, WorkCover is responsible for workers’ compensation insurance and is governed by the Workers’
Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Council
The Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel (OQPC) is responsible for drafting all Queensland Acts, and subordinate legislation made under most Queensland Acts. This web site contains the Queensland legislation database created and maintained by OQPC since 19
