Our Executive Management team includes the CEO, Tony Hawkins and a group of General Managers who are each responsible for a key area of our business. This team reports to the Board and drives our people towards the vision and goals of the organisation, bound by our corporate values of excellence, integrity, responsiveness and respect.

Tony HawkinsChief Executive Officer
Tony Hawkins BCom, Dip Fin Mgt, FCPA

Tony has led WorkCover Queensland as Chief Executive Officer since 1998. He is also a Director of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. Prior to his appointment of CEO, Tony had thirteen years insurance experience with the AXA Group and fourteen years mining experience with CSR. As Chief Executive Officer, Tony continues to guide WorkCover Queensland with a clear focus on continuing excellence.

 

 

 

Sharon StratfordGeneral Manager Customer Services
Sharon Stratford B Phty, Grad Dip Bus Sys, Grad Cert Mgt

Sharon has over ten years senior management experience with WorkCover Queensland, including five years in general manager roles, and has worked in the workers’ compensation industry for more than twenty years. Her background and experience support her ability to achieve quality return to work for injured workers, at the lowest cost for employers, and to deliver outcome focussed services for customers. She places a priority on engaging and developing relationships with all stakeholders.

 

 

 

Irene VioletGeneral Manager Corporate Services
Irene Violet BHSc (Rehab Couns), BA (Psych), MBA

Irene has over eight years management experience with WorkCover Queensland and has worked in the rehabilitation sector for 15 years. Her background assists her to understand the operational aspects of WorkCover from the point of view of both internal and external stakeholders. This drives Irene to deliver processes that are simple and streamlined, which support the work of our other customer service areas.

Trevor Barrenger BA

Trevor has had extensive experience in the delivery of business solutions and technology systems in a number of global consulting organisations. Trevor has had the opportunity to work on large projects across Europe, America and Australia—this experience supports his ability to deliver technology solutions to meet WorkCover Queensland’s business needs and customer service outcomes.

 

 

 

David HeleyGeneral Manager Finance
David Heley BAdmin, FCPA, DFP, FPA (Aff), Grad Dip CSP

David has more than twenty years experience in the finance and insurance sector. As Chief Financial Officer, David ensures WorkCover maintains its strong financial position. His division provides financial strategy, reporting and analysis, taxation, treasury, compliance and audit functions that support our business. David is also the company secretary.
