Access to claims histories

Q-COMP is the Workers' Compensation Regulatory Authority and is responsible for managing workers' compensation claims histories in Queensland.

If you are a worker and need a copy of your claims history, contact Q-COMP on 1300 361 235. Claims histories will not be released to employers.

Worker access to claim information

If you need a copy of your claim file, contact us by phone or in writing. WorkCover will release the documents to you free of charge within 20 business days of receiving your request.

You are usually entitled to a complete copy of your claim file. You can also authorise your solicitor, union representative, employer, or other agent to ask for information on your behalf.

Employer access to claim information

As the employer of an injured worker, you are entitled to some information from claim files. WorkCover can release information from claim files that will allow you to manage rehabilitation, understand your claims costs, and review rights.

As WorkCover must protect individual’s privacy, personal information, that is not directly related to the claim, cannot be provided to you. If you have the worker’s permission, we will release any relevant documents we hold on file.
