Managing your policy


The following will identify key dates and deadlines for the policy renewal season.

1-3 July paperwork is sent out to you  (Declaration of Wages or Premium Notice, for automatically assessed policies)
July/August assessments processed and reassessments conducted as required
31 August

deadline for wages information to be returned to WorkCover Queensland if you were sent a Declaration of Wages or want your automatic assessment reassessed (you must lodge your wages information by this date to be eligible for payment options)

5 September

late automatic assessments processed for any employer who has not provided wages information

16 September deadline for discounted premium payment
30 September

payment of full premium (if no other payment option offered/taken) or return of direct debit bank details for payment plans

5 October

first direct debit instalment processed

(if you have set up a monthly or quarterly payment plan)

October follow up of late payments

For policies that are automatically assessed, WorkCover Queensland will send a Premium Notice (automatic assessment) for payment. You will only need to provide your own wages information by 31 August, if you need to have your premium reassessed.

If you do not meet the payment due dates, penalties will apply. The amount of penalty is outlined in the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.
