What if my circumstances change?

Your WorkCover Accident Insurance Policy may be altered if there are changes to:

It is important to advise WorkCover Queensland of any changes to your policy.

Change of policy name

The policy name identifies the employing entity that is being insured. A name may be changed on a policy in limited circumstances:

  1. Where a company name change is registered with ASIC and the company retains the same ACN.
  2. Where an accounting firm or law firm partnership adds or removes a partner.
  3. Where receivers and managers, administrators or liquidators are appointed to a business.
  4. Where a policyholder is deceased.

In circumstances outlined in 1, 2 and 3 a name change must be done in writing and can only be performed if there is no outstanding premium on the policy.

In all other situations, such as changing employing entity from a sole trader or partnership into a registered company, the existing policy will need to be cancelled and a new policy will come into effect as at the takeover date.
