Medical and rehabilitation costs include:
- medical treatment by a registered person (for example a doctor, dentist, or physiotherapist)
- surgical and hospital expenses and medicines that are essential to your recovery (for example bandages or prescription drugs)
- equipment or services needed to help you recover (for example wheelchairs, crutches, or return to work programs).
Q-COMP has set fees for most medical, hospital, and rehabilitation treatments. If you are seeking treatment, you should check what your provider will charge in comparison to these fees, as if the doctor and/or rehabilitation provider decides to charge more than the table of costs, you will have to pay the difference.
Sometimes you will need to pay up-front for treatment, medicines, medical supplies, or equipment. Please make sure you send all original receipts to WorkCover Queensland. We will then reimburse you for these, if the costs are directly associated with your injury and your claim has been accepted.
If your claim hasn't been accepted, you will be responsible for payment of the medical or rehabilitation costs.
