Return to work
If a worker has been off work for a work-related injury, they need to contact WorkCover Queensland on their return to work. Workers who keep us informed of their work status can ensure that they are paid the correct amount of compensation benefits. If a worker is overpaid, they or their employer may, under the Workers'
If a worker returns to work and no longer requires rehabilitation, they need to get a certificate of clearance from their doctor. The certificate must then be sent to WorkCover who will finalise and close the claim.
If a worker returns to work but still requires rehabilitation, they will need to get a certificate from their doctor and send it to WorkCover. WorkCover will stop paying the injured worker weekly compensation benefits, but will continue to pay for reasonable and necessary medical treatment and rehabilitation expenses.
