On average, workers who suffer from a secondary psychological injury are away from work twice as long as those who suffer a physical injury only. As such, it’s important that organisations have strong injury management, rehabilitation and return to work plans in place to deal with a workplace injury and to prevent a secondary psychological injury occurring.
Spotting the secondary psychological injury red flags
