Renewing your policy
Your WorkCover accident insurance policy covers you in financial year periods. Each new financial year, we renew every accident insurance policy in Queensland.
Your renewal process will start in one of two ways.
Declaring wages
For policies with premium of $1200 or more (including taxes) in the past year, we ask you to declare your prior year’s actual wages and current year’s provisional wages.
You’ll receive a wage declaration form by mail, or you can go online to declare your wages from 1 July.
Once you’ve declared your wages, we’ll send you a premium notice that includes information about how your premium is calculated.
Auto-assessed policies
For policies with premium of less than $1200, we will automatically assess your policy.
We use your prior year’s provisional wages as your actual wages, and increase your prior year’s provisional wages by 10% to declare as your current year’s provisional wages. You're mailed a premium notice at the beginning of July with this information.
Wages that are significantly different
If your wages differ significantly from our estimates, you can declare wages at any time during July and August. You can declare your wages online, or by checking your premium notice for other options. We’ll send you a new notice reflecting your declared wages.
