Injuries on or after 1 December 1994 and before 31 December 1995

The definition of injury was amended effective from 1 December 1994 and required that employment be a significant contributing factor to the injury.

Specific reference to psychological injuries was inserted into the definition of injury, effective from 1 December 1994. Section 6(3) specifically excluded personal injury suffered because of:

• reasonable disciplinary action taken against the worker in connection with the workers' employment
• failure by the worker to obtain a promotion, transfer or benefit in connection with the workers' employment.
