Injuries prior to 1 January 1991

For injuries sustained between 1 July 1916 and 1 January 1991, a 'worker' is defined in section 3 as a person who works under a contract of service or apprenticeship subject to certain inclusions and exclusions.

'Injury' is defined in section 3 as personal injury arising out of, or in the course of employment, provided employment was a contributing factor.  'Injury' includes a disease, aggravation or acceleration of a disease or loss of hearing subject to some specific exclusion.
