Non WorkCover claims

There are a small number of companies who do not need to insure with WorkCover Queensland because they are ‘self-insured’. If a person works for a self-insured company or their member businesses, they will need to lodge their application for compensation directly with their employer (using their employer’s application for compensation form). See our quick reference guide for a list of self-insured employers and member businesses in Queensland.

Q-COMP, the Queensland Workers’ Compensation Regulatory Authority, also has a list of self-insured employers and their contact details.

Persons employed by the federal government should lodge an application for compensation through Comcare, which manages worker’s compensation for all federal government employees.
