The Australian Industry Group is holding free seminars for employers in Bundaberg and Gladstone on how to manage secondary psychological injuries.

Secondary psychological injuries are associated with a previous physical injury claim. Most develop over a period of months and factors including poor management of the initial claim, workplace culture or physical pain.

The seminars will provide proactive advice on risk and injury management strategies to best support workers.

Information will also be provided on the importance of prevention and early assistance, with presentations by WorkCover Queensland, Q-COMP, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and the Ai Group.

The Bundaberg seminar will be held on Wednesday 10 October from 12 pm until 2 pm at Burnett Riverside Hotel.

The Gladstone seminar will be held on Thursday 11 October from 8 am until 10 am at Rydges Gladstone.

Make sure you register your interest by completing the Ai Group registration form for the Bundaberg seminar or Gladstone seminar.

The Ai Group is also holding a seminar on Managing Psychological Illness and WorkCover Claims.

This session will be held in Brisbane on Wednesday 31 October and will address Queensland workers’ compensation legislation, as well as managing psychological illness in the workplace.

You can download the registration form or visit the Ai Group’s events page for more information.
