Safe Work Week 2012 is fast approaching and Queensland businesses are being encouraged to get involved. This year’s campaign is all about getting the community to think about their most important reasons to stay safe at work, and with three great ways to get involved, there is something for everyone!

Share your reason to stay safe at work

Share your most important reason for workplace safety by submitting a photo on the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland website. The first 100 people to do so will receive a Safe Work Week poster signed by Safety Ambassador Mal Meninga.

Hold a workplace event

Reflect on why work health and safety is so important and demonstrate your organisations commitment to reducing the rate of injuries and illness in the workplace. Whether the event is big or small, public or private, every business that registers an event will receive a Safe Work Week promotional pack and could have their event showcased on the Safe Work Week community event calendar.

Attend a Leadership Forum Breakfast

Business leaders and work health and safety professionals are invited to attend leadership forum breakfasts being held across Queensland throughout October. The breakfasts will feature safety experts and presentations from local business leaders to demonstrate how industry can lead the way towards achieving safer Queensland workplaces. Safety Ambassador Mal Meninga will also speak at each breakfast.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland’s Safe Work Week kicks off on Tuesday 2 October and will culminate on Tuesday 23 October with the Queensland Safe Work Awards ceremony. Visit Safe Work Week 2012 to submit a photo, register your event or book for a leadership breakfast.
