Supporting skills for women
25 Sep 2012
The Queensland Government’s Supporting Women Scholarships are open for women wanting to study in male dominated fields.
Fields including agricultural science, building services, engineering and geological science are experiencing skill shortages, and the scholarships are designed to encourage women to enter these fields.
The resources, construction and agriculture industries are part of Queensland’s four pillars, which the state government considers vital to the future growth of Queensland’s economy.
There are a range of study options available, from Certificates, Diplomas and Bachelor Degrees, to Masters. Funding covers the duration of the study and is valued at $5 000 per annum for full time study and $2 500 per annum for part time study.
Applications must be submitted by close of business Friday 12 October, and applicants must be beginning study in 2013.
