What if a worker can't return to work?

In most cases, injured workers are able to return to their pre-injury employment. However, WorkCover Queensland may help injured workers explore other employment options if they can’t return to employment because of their work-related injury. This process can involve:

suitable duties programs
on-the-job retraining
a host suitable duties program
short training courses.

Injured workers are also able to apply for lump sum compensation if their work-related injury results in permanent impairment.
